Despite her estranged husband’s rather public campaign to “Get Her Back,” Paula Patton has filed for a divorce from Robin Thicke after nine years of marriage, EW has confirmed.
In documents filed on Oct. 3 in an L.A. County Superior Court, Patton cites irreconcilable differences for filing for a divorce. She asked for joint legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old son, Julian.
The news comes six months after the couple an entire album dedicated to his wife at the Billboard Music Awards.
In a revealing interview last month in which he admitted to a drug and alcohol addiction, the “Blurred Lines” singer opened up about he and his wife’s separation, and what part he played in it. When asked if he thinks he’s an honest person, he replied, “No, that’s why I’m separated…I told my wife the truth. That’s why she left me.”
A rep for Patton did not immediately respond to EW‘s request for comment.
