The Newsroom (HBO, Sundays at 10 pm ET)

First - in the TV world this show has gotten a lot of talk.  Who would have thought?  Everyone is like the second episode's ratings dropped but then came back for the third episode (I wonder if Nielsen data results were lower because of the power outage that affected DC area and other states too - since I was affected by the power outage as well I didn't catch the news about other locations that lost power).

So I think I know why the critics aren't liking the show - there are some scenes that are too neurotic.  The characters are neurotic.  Is it enough for me to stop watching? No.  The only other reason I can think of people not liking the show would be that the behind the scenes of a news program are not accurate.  I don't know anything about it so none of that really bothers me.

Ok - also POOOR JIM -  every time Maggie and Don get back together...he was right they should stop breaking up every five seconds.  It's a show and it gets annoying - plus he doesn't want to be the rebound guy even if Neal thinks he is doing something against his own interest by advocating for them to just not break up!  Did that sound confusing?  Well the show is wordy.  You know what - Aaron Sorkin should throw in bigger words- I like them.

I am still watching it -- will keep you posted on whether the show actually gets as bad as the critics have been saying (I wonder how many episodes they have watched)!
